Home from Home at Christmas

Well to say that this year has been tough is an understatement isn’t it? As a busy family we have a wall planner that helps us keep track of commitments, appointments and after-school activities, but this year it’s had more than a few scorings out and it's now gathering dust.

Looking forward to the festive season at Galloway View

This second wave of the pandemic brings more uncertainty, but we’re hoping that tough restrictions now will allow us to enjoy more freedom as the festive season draws nearer. Spending time with family and friends is one of the joys of Christmas and we’re particularly looking forward to it this year in the Hutchison household.

But there’s work to be done! We’re busy planning the Christmas decorations for our properties here at Galloway View ready for our guests who come to enjoy a few days rest and relaxation in the run up to the Christmas holidays - or even come to stay for Christmas itself to enjoy the holidays away from home.

Recharge your batteries

Staying at home and enjoying the festive down-time is great (although we appreciate that not everybody gets time off at this time of year!) but this year some of us have been working from home so much that we’ve seen rather more of it than we’re used to, and it’s been difficult to switch off from work and into family mode. Maybe it’s time to recharge the batteries. Come and stay with us at Galloway View and experience the best of South West Scotland either in our cosy luxury snugs for two or our bigger family sized properties.

Luxury snugs with your own private hot tub

We’ve lots of spaces for pre and post-Christmas getaways - check out our online booking system or email Lizzie for up to date offers and availability. You can look forward to your own private hot tub and beautifully furnished snugs and lodges, our popular welcome pack of the finest quality local treats in every property on arrival, and you can try our very own tasty free range eggs, courtesy of our boy Jack’s hens!

Welcome Packs and local treats

You’ll find plenty of great places to eat nearby if eating in isn’t your thing. Nearby Gatehouse of Fleet boasts the historic Masonic Arms with a fantastic menu and something for everyone, and the Galloway Lodge Coffee House serves homemade food, excellent coffee and their very own famous Galloway Lodge Preserves including handmade chutneys, jams and condiments, which also take pride of place in our welcome pack hampers.

We look forward to looking after you at Galloway View. Meanwhile, take care and stay safe,

Lizzie x

At the time of writing, the Covid restrictions prohibit more than one household from occupying a self-catering property, and Dumfries & Galloway falls into Tier 2.
